I thought I better take a minute to clarify how things work between Girl Friday and PayPal. I see transactions processing in PayPal, but never completed, and when that happens, I can’t fill the order. When I make deliveries on Tuesday or Wednesday, I want to be sure I have food for everyone who orders.
So here’s the deal: when you fill out the form on my website and choose PayPal as your payment method, you are taken over to PayPal as soon as you click Place Order. From there, you either enter your PayPal account credentials or you can choose to checkout without a PayPal account. When you use a PayPal account, your credit card info is saved in PayPal. When you checkout without a PayPal account, you will enter your payment information into PayPal. Either way, you’ll eventually reach a point where you have to click the yellow “Pay Now” in PayPal. Then, you will get a confirmation that looks something like this:
Two important things happen when you’ve successfully completed your PayPal transaction:
- You’ll see there is a transaction ID for the payment.
- You’ll also get an email from PayPal confirming the transaction.
If those things do not happen, Girl Friday didn’t receive your payment and won’t know to fill your order!
Once in awhile, PayPal flags a payment for some weird reason. We had one flagged because we use the work Cuban in our menu description! Lesson learned…anyway, most of the time, your payment will sail through. However, if you’re having any problems using PayPal, please email me and I will get Maggie, my computer girl, to investigate it.
